Even though Programming the Z80 wasn’t written for the TR-80, it was one of the most popular TRS-80 programming books. It and TRS-80 Assembly Programming introduced many TRS-80 programmers to assembly language.
The book sold over 100,000 copies in its first year. Author Rodnay Zaks also published related books, including Programming the 6502, and founded Sybex Inc. Radio Shack offered an edition titled How to Program the Z80.
The book covers a broad range of programming concepts including a detailed exploration of the Z80 instruction set. Notably, it includes information on undocumented registers W and Z. I recommend the second or third editions for learning the Z80.

Definitely got me off to a good start programming in assembler for the Model 4. Great memories; I guess my age is showing…
